Self confidence wasn't something that came easy for me. Before I found Weight Watchers, I hated myself. I thought that because of the extra weight, I couldn't accomplish any of the things that I really wanted to in life. I looked for the quick fix and it took the wake-up call of landing in the hospital after overdosing on diet pills for me take hold of the reins of my life. That's when I hooked up with Weight Watchers. Now, each day of my life, I exercise, eat five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables, make it a point to read as much as I can, surround myself with loving friends and family, give back to my community, interface and laugh with my wonderful staff, and I Talk To The Mirror. It is said that once you change. things really begin to move! The lessons I learned early in life sparked a fire in my belly and a passion in my heart to help others make this life their best life. And I am so excited and proud to be able to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people by my influence each and every day.

"Weight Watchers has changed me and I would love to share
how this program has given me a life. Weight Watchers taught
me to take care of myself, lose weight and continue to
nourish myself properly with food and self-care. Losing the weight showed me that the seemingly impossible is within reach. I wondered, "Losing the weight inspired me to pursue a doctoral student (which I am half-way through!).Then, I set a goal to run in the Free Press Marathon in 2009--having never run in my life.
At the age of 36, I finished the 26.2 mile race. Just like it took
me a while to embrace my newer, slimmer self after losing the
weight, I am just now calling myself a "runner" after recently
completing another 27 mile run. My next goal: a 50 mile
endurance run in 2011.Weight Watchers encourages lifestyle
changes--not quick fixes. I am the living embodiment of a
changed lifestyle!"

"From my past experience with Weight Watchers - in my 20's,
30's & 40's - I not only knew the program worked, I knew that it
is built upon on evidence based scientific research. This time
I was ready to make a PERMANENT commitment to a healthy
lifestyle 'no matter what'. Guided by a knowledgeable,
understanding, experienced and trusted Leader, I take full
advantage of the wide variety of Weight Watchers tools,
strategies,resources and products. Attending meetings and
setting SMART GOALS - long term, intermediate and short
term - have been central to my success. A Ben Franklin quote
on the wall of the West Bloomfield Center says it best,
"Failing to plan, is planning to fail." In Weight Watchers, I've
learned to plan for a healthier future. I used to be tired all the
time and placed self imposed limits on just about everything.
I avoided any situation where I would need to walk or stand for
any length of time and got really good at creating excuses to
cover for my exhaustion. Plus, I never got enough sleep
because I needed more time to accomplish just about
everything. All of these issues are now gone, as are the
excuses! The "new me" has energy to spare, enjoys regular
exercise, has eliminated weight-related health risks and has a
firm grasp on the boundaries needed for optimal health.
None of this was true of the "old me". I am entering my 60's
with a new lease on life. THANK YOU Weight Watchers.
Now I DID IT!" I am the living embodiment of a
changed lifestyle!"

“I was a retired police officer who wasn’t moving around much. In fact, I used a cane or a motorized cart to get around because walking was getting to be too tough. “I was in a car accident that resulted in numerous ankle surgeries. “Before I joined Weight Watchers, I had a dream of what I would look like once I actually lost weight. I was 50 at the time, overweight and miserable. What’s more, I didn’t want to face the medical problems my parents had as they got older. So I joined Weight Watchers. When I go to meetings, I get great ideas and not-so-great ideas from the other members. I feel empowered after the meetings. I’m now the woman I saw in my dream. “I had trouble enjoying some of my favorite activities. I love sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, but going to a game was quite a challenge.  There’s the tight seating and the embarrassment I felt when I couldn’t fit in the seat.  But to even get to that, I had to go through the turnstiles–an experience that left bruises on my legs. I decided to lose weight for me and my health. Weight Watchers taught me that food is a choice. The restrictive ways of other weight loss programs failed me, but Weight Watchers broke that mold.
